Good morning 🙂
Today kicks off the Whole Foods Cherry Fest!
Apparently, Whole Foods will be raffling off tickets to the Pacific Northwest, selling their cherries at a discounted price ($1.99/pound), and doing other fun things throughout June and July. My local store has events next week.
To join in on the fun, I started my day with cherries!
Chocolate Cherry Almond Smoothie
(similar to the famous CCBS)
- 1 cup chocolate almond milk
- 1/2 packet Amazing Grass chocolate meal
- 1/2 cup frozen cherries
- 1 frozen banana
- 1 cup frozen spinach
- 1 tbsp almond butter
- 1/2 tbsp raw honey
- 1/2 cup water to make it mix better!
WOW – this was good. Who knew that cherries and almond butter would mix so well?!
I also swung by Whole Foods on my way to work and picked up some cherries.
I purchased three bags of cherries (6.5 lbs). Some to eat now and some to freeze for later. A 10 ounce bag of frozen cherries will cost you between $3.99 – $5.99 a pop, so buying the cherries at a discount sure does help with my cherry addiction!
I packed a good lunch today as well.
A salad with red leaf lettuce, sprouted wheatberries, radishes, jicama, tomato, pecans and cranberries tossed with fig infused vinegar.
And, native strawberries which are so sweet!
Happy Friday!
