It is going to be another fun week with our CSA bundle that I picked up yesterday!
I decided to make this a weekly post to show you guys everything that we get from our CSA, and to help me remember down the road! I think it will be fun to look back.
So, here it goes!
This week we got a lot of great stuff.
I was psyched when I saw the list! Sugar snap peas!! More kale!! Swiss chard!! Fennel! Can it get better?! 🙂
Sugar Snap Peas
Fennel – check out the size of this!
Lettuce! You thought the fennel was big, well this head of lettuce is enormous! The picture doesn’t do it justice. 🙂
Kale – it’s purple!!
Swiss Chard – there are a few different types in this bunch. I always thought it all looked the same.
Scallions
Spring Garlic – Did you know that you can use the garlic bulb and the stem (up until where the leaves split)? Just chop the stems as you would chop a scallion. This form of garlic is not at potent as normal garlic.
Once again, I washed everything and put it in the fridge to keep it fresh. I used the last of the lettuce from last week yesterday and it was still fresh! This just shows that it really does pay to buy local so that your produce isn’t sitting in a truck for a week before it makes it to you.
Happy Wednesday!
