Well, it seems like my body is in recovery mode now. All it wants to do is sit and sleep. But, who can blame it…it did just get hit by a car! So, I’m giving it the rest that it needs. No need to push it and get hurt, that’s for sure.
I have been trying to fuel my body properly for recovery today with lots of wholesome foods and water.
For breakfast, I made up a Chocolate Cherry Bomb!
I followed the ingredients exactly and it came out exactly how I wanted it to. The cherry and chocolate flavors combine so nicely together.
The one problem is that frozen cherries are so expensive!! The organic ones at Whole Foods are at least $4.99, which does not fit in my budget when I use almost an entire bag for one smoothie. Well, I stopped at Shaw’s last night to pick up some limes and decided to check out their frozen fruit…and there they were! Frozen organic dark sweet cherries for $2.99! Yippee!!
As usual, I took my smoothie to-go and I also had a homemade tropical granola bar on my ride to work.
For lunch, I packed an assortment.
A small salad with romaine (which is local!), unsweetened raisins, raw pecans and goat cheese. Drizzled with fig infused white vinegar.
This is my favorite salad combo! I also had the last of my Clean Food Hummus with Mary’s Twigs & Sticks.
And, I may have mixed it all together with my salad.
And, yogurt and an apple, which I saved for my afternoon snack.
I was on my own for dinner, so I ate immediately when I got home! Usually I wait for a good hour for my husband. Today, I was hungry! And, my Bean Chili was waiting for me in the fridge.
Topped with mexican cheese, a dollop of plain yogurt to cut the spice and Mary’s Sticks & Twigs! I loved the crunch they gave to my chili last time.
And, I ate lots of watermelon…much more than is pictured here!
Time to lay on the couch and veg. Gooooooooodnight. 🙂
