We headed to the Taste of South Boston after we got home from skiing last night with some friends. It was really fun to sample food from the different restaurants in Southie! There were a bunch of places participating, many of which were serving some type of meat, so I skipped out on the majority, but here were some highlights from the night.
It was at the Seaport Hotel in the Ballroom. There were just a bunch of tables set up for sampling.
We started out with some beer from Harpoon!
They were serving UFO and IPA. I went with the UFO, Brant went with the IPA. Cheers!
Then, we sampled some food.
Chicken Tikki Masala from Cafe Mamtaz.
I loved this! I can’t wait to try their veggie stuff in the near future.
Sweet Potato Ravioli from Barlow’s.
So good! People were swarming over this station, they couldn’t get the ravioli’s out fast enough!
Next up, some wine tastings! They had red and white, but I stuck with white tonight.
I sampled some pinot grigio.
And some reisling, along with Mac & Cheese from Lucky’s.
And, just a few bites of Baked Ziti from Joseph’s. They do not mess around with their baked ziti!
The food was all pretty good, but the highlight of my night was the desserts!
Cream Puffs from Flour Bakery. I had 2, even though I don’t even like cream puffs!
And, some delicious fruit.
Then came the best thing all night! A Chocolate Raspberry Cupcake from Sweet Tooth Bakery.
I don’t even want to know what this cupcake was made of, or how many calories it contained! At that point of the night, I put my blinders on and dug right in.
Check out the raspberry filling.
This thing was worth every single calorie! Delicious! Perfect way to end the night.
Overall, this event was so much fun! I’d love to check out some other events in the area.
