happy valentines day

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!!

We started the day with a Valentine’s day breakfast!  Mushroom quiche, fruit and apple cake.  YUM!

Blueberries, stawberries and bananas.

Along with some Valentine’s day treats from mom!

And, what is love day without conversation hearts?!

Can you believe that they say things like tweet me and text me now?!  What happened to be mine?

Then, it was time to hit the slopes again.  The legs are tired today after such a full day yesterday.  It was colder today – brrr!

Look who I found hanging out by the fireplace when I came in from skiing – Benny keeping cozy by the fire.

Benny is my brother and sister-in-law’s cute pie pug! He loves to sleep on our comfy couch. 🙂

Lunch was some leftover salad and a small scoop of shrimp and pesto risotto (minus the shrimp) from last night.  Plus, a cheddar cheese, tomato and roasted red pepper hummus panini.

Salad with Honey Mustard Dressing

Normally, I like to make my own dressings to make them healthier, but this one isn’t so bad.  It has oils and sugars in it, but at least there is no high fructose corn syrup.

Panini with cheddar cheese, sliced tomato and roasted red pepper hummus on tuscan whole wheat bread.

And, everything with risotto!

And, Hazelnut-Vanilla Black Tea with and oatmeal raisin cookie for a mid-afternoon snack.

I am a big tea drinker, so I love and prefer loose leaf tea.  It has a much better flavor and is the actual tea leaves, instead of dust or fanning’s that are in tea bags.  However, I just love this tea!  It only comes out at Christmas time, but I just found another box at Whole Foods!  It is a black tea with hazelnut and vanilla flavoring, and like it’s name – it’s a dream!

New product alert!

If you like ginger, try these!

I am a fan of all of the ginger chews, even though they contain sugar!  They are just so good, and perfect to keep in your pocket, your purse, or your gym bag to freshen your breath!!  I love the sweet and spicy taste.  Sometimes I drop them into my tea! 🙂  So, when I saw these gin gin candies, I knew I had to try them out.

They are good!  A ginger hard candy – yum!
